What did Digital Inflatables make for Swissquote’s 25th anniversary?

A series of 25 giant inflatable candles, one for each year of the bank.

The workshop designed and manufactured the candles; the art direction came from Trivial Mass.

In the workshop’s video, the tall, slim orange candles line the roof of an office building, while more orange shapes stand out against the glass facade. Placed high up, they can be seen from the street and the car park.

Who is Swissquote, the client behind these giant candles?

A Swiss online bank headquartered in Gland; its website Swissquote.ch was launched in 1996.

In 2021 the bank turned 25, and the candles made that anniversary visible from outside the building.

Trivial Mass, the agency in charge of the art direction, took over the end-of-year markets in Lausanne in 2015 to create Bô Noël.

Can a giant advertising inflatable be installed on a roof?

Yes, as long as it is firmly tied to the building’s structure and the wind is taken into account, since it blows harder up high than at ground level.

A rooftop inflatable keeps its shape thanks to a blower running non-stop, so it needs a power supply on site and access for installation. Anchor points are agreed with the building owner before manufacturing starts.
